Had a useless meeting with the US and Spore folks. It's not that I'm gonna benefit a lot from the pricing strategy and stuffs like that. These should be covered by the PME, not the software developer. Wasted my 1 and a half hours...sad...:(
Prologue Just an overview of what I did for the past two days, basically five of my Ipoh friends came over to have a two-day tour in Penang. Below are the places I brought them to visit.
SUNDAY
1. Kek Lok Si Traffic jam like hell, went up to the hill to park, and realised that there was a stupid cow who wanted to cut queue and drove on the opposite side. In the end he got cursed by a westerner (@$%%$^), and everybody else on the opposite lane. What did we do? We sat in the car and started laughing....bad hor? After that we went to eat the famous laksa.
2. Big sister kopitiam Went to eat char koay teow (not that good) and wu tau kou (yam cake). All my friends wanted to see Prose, so I called him out...and guess what my friends say? He looked more handsome in real person than picture...:). And since my laptop was with me, I asked Prose to fetch me back to my place to put the laptop (actually I wanted to go home to freshen up, and hoping that they wouldn't ask me to stay overnite, which, eventually they did). They went off to check in at the Feringghi Beach Hotel, and me and Prose to Bayan Lepas.
3. Gurney Plaza Shopping, shopping and shopping! Unfortunately it's not me who's doing that, it's the three "lui yan"s who bought nearly RM1000 of SKII products...haiyo, scared me only...I didn't manage to buy anything, and to tell the truth, British India clothes sucks! And we bought beers (Heineken was okay, but Carls sucks...yucks...) for "chor tai ti" session at midnite...
4. Gurney Drive Eating fest! Char koay teow (again), laksa (again), sotong bakar, oh chien, koay teow theng, rojak, etc...the table is practically full of food...and all of us (except CF's bf) are the thin type...
5. Hotel Three lazy pigs went sprawling on the bed until I had to kick one of them..:P
Played chor tai ti for a few rounds, and the funny part was that SY lost for three rounds consecutively...hehe, she drank beer until headche...I didn't win, but fortunately I didn't lose...:D
MONDAY
1. Lorong Selamat Char kay teow??? Not again! ....in the end, we still had the char koay teow, for the umpteenth time...this time it was pretty okay, although the price is a bit steep...And we had the famous-but-not-tasty ais kacang...Oh yeah, before lunch we actually went to Esplanade, but everybody was cursing me for stopping there because:
1. They were really hungry
2. There was nothing to see in Esplanade other than two silly cannons jutting out
3. Not even 2 inches of SPF40 sunblock can withstand the UV rays of the sun at that time (it's HOT, with a capital H!)
2. Prangin Mall Well, what else other than shopping? I criticized on CS's clothing taste, and she wasn't too happy about it...I mean, why spend RM20 for a floormat-like blouse and RM7.90 for a curtain-like hand knit pouch? Anyway, my leg was starting to get painful (sprained ankle afew days ago), so in the end I sat down and waited for them to finish their spree.
3. Chow Rasta market aka Place opposite police station with a lot of food to buy (this is defined by my friends) They bought more than 10 packets of tau sar peah, and some bought salty fish. And I was limping towards them with a plasticful of roasted chestnuts (heh heh). Nothing much happened here, other than performing outstanding stunts by crossing the ever-heavy traffic road with a limping condition.
4. Garage Ms. CS wanted to buy some authentic stuff (more curtain-like clothes, I believe), so we succumb to her commands and waited for her in that coffee place (jeez, what was the name? Not Starbucks, not Coffee Bean...hrmm...). Had a mango tango for RM10...expensive ler...
5. Batu Maung seafood Brought them to Batu Maung for the famous seafood, unfortunately they think it wasn't that good...Bukit Tambun is kinda far, so we have to stick with the ones in Penang. Ordered "yu, har, hai" (fish, prawn, crab), so it totalled up to about RM160 for 7 persons. A little bit expensive, but it saved more time than to go to Bukit Tambun, so I'll still prefer paying more than wasting my time going to some far place just to eat seafood. Might choose BT only when I have ample time...
Epilogue In two days I was the chauffeur, financial controller, tour guide, and manager. The things I do for friends...:P
But I did't really mind, 'coz I enjoyed myself, and I believe they did too...these are the memories that will last a lifetime.
