Now listening to "Come What May", by Nicole and Ewan. Trying to change my template, but there's a lot of work to do, press this button, set that change...duh...
Too much typing can be hazardous, now my wrist is painful, maybe that stupid syndrome is coming back, forgot what the name is...Suppose to study HLD, but now chatting online, haiseh...
Must log off now, the pain is really getting on to me...
Haven't been updating my blog lately, kinda dropped this one minor project off for bigger ones, eg: going to San Fran and ronda-ronda, going to Lake Tahoe, etc...:)
Last week, I had the whole week of 4-day device driver training in Alameda. Then went to San Jose to Chettiar Singaraja's house for the whole weekend. Before that, on Tuesday, had steamboat dinner with the gang, four of us...was kinda lucky to be able to celebrate CNY (first day) with someone I know. Nothing much happened until thr trip to San Fran. Oh yeah, had valentine dinner with the three fellas as well. What to do, boy-boy not here mah...
The trip to San Fran on Sat took about an hour, with stops along the 1 highway. Breathtaking views from the sea, with waves lapping the shore and windy breeze...well, not exactly breeze, it was more of voilent slaps of wind to my face that I nearly ran back to the car and hid. The freaking wind was so strong, it was so damn cold, and those guys were happily clicking away their digital cameras...sigh, guys...what do u expect?
When we reached San Fran, first thing we did were to experience the ride along the hilly road. And when I said hilly, I meant it. It's like those action movies when u see a car went flying across another road. The slopes get higher and higher until you can see the end of the road. For those who have just started driving, pls don't try to be smart and tour San Fran downtown. Might get killed before you know it.
Anyway, we stopped by Fisherman's Wharf and got clam chowder for lunch. Kinda creamy, first few sips were okay, but it got really filling at the end that you will throw that whole bowl away.Btw, the bowl is usually made of bread.
Went to snap some shots of Alcatraz, cool place, imagine Sean Connery had been there before! A bunch of sea lions nearby, so took a pic with them too...Nothing much in the end, just went to Chinatown and had chinese dinner.
Next day went to Mountain View, went to Stanford Uni (or was it Berkeley? :P), a very very big place, too bad it rained that day, otherwise I would have taken some shots...
Monday, greatest day of all, we went to Lake Tahoe, which is full of snow..could never imagine that Cali will have snow, but there it was, a high mountain with a big lake. It was hell when we tried renting the ski equipment. The queues were as far as the eyes could see, simply because that day was a holiday (President's Day). And the best thing was, after all the queueing up, just before we reached the counter, one of us (D) said he didn't wanna ski anymore. Wasn't really his fault, all of us thought the same thing too. So in the end we went snapping photos...went round the place and threw snowballs at each other.
Very beautiful place, and I've borrowed a snow slide to play with. Went down the slope screaming away and nearly hit a tree. Luckily I managed to stop on time, swerving that slide sideways, apparently my friend said that moment was cool...well, forget it, no matter how cool it was, I'm not gonna play with that dumb slide anymore.
Journey back was another hell experience for me. The traffic jam took 2 hours, imagine that! And one has to understand that there are no toilets along the way...
Reached San Jose at about 9.30pm, had not have our dinner yet. I was too tired to go out to eat, so had Maggi mee...
And left at 5.30am in the next morning, back to SLO, to work...took 3 hours to reach, and I slept the whole journey. Pity my friend who drove...
And today's Friday! No mood to work, but have to force myself to read the HLD...unless I wanna get fired by boss...
