Last nite we had our dept dinner held in Casuarina Hotel. It get 'cheaper' every year coz we only get buffet dinner, whereas last year there used to be a 9-course dinner for everyone including interns. But the fun was still there, with interesting games and such. Had our fair share of joy during the quiz contest. Heh, my colleague insisted that Japan's national flower is chrysanthemum, whereas everybody else voted for sakura. He actually got the answer from 'Who wants to be a millionaire?', unfortunately, only one in a million watches that show...:P. I think the whole dept thinks that it's sakura except for him. Whatever it is, we lost, but we were quite glad that the team spirit was there.
The food was not so good, and though they call it buffet, they never refilled the raw salmon dish. Finally got myself another reason not to go to Casuarina for its buffet (never like that place from start, it's so so so far anyway).
Lucky me, got a lucky draw prize after all these years participating...well, didn't get myself a Tag Heuer watch (dream on), what I got was only a stainless steel food mug, but I was still glad that I got something. Those with service years of 5, 10 and 15 got a set of key chains and pens...
Last event was the photo session...I think we took more than 8 shots of the whole dept photo...that smile of mine stayed there for more than 3 min...aiyoyo...
Heard that there was a new place to hang out, so we went to Baywatch Beach Club, below E&O. Apparently it's the most happening place now. Had a lil bit of whiskey + a lotta Coke. Had a good conversation with my colleague, he told me why his boss left our dept...a lot of political stunts pulled by our big big boss apparently...hmm...really interesting. By the time we left, it was already 1.30am (some of them stayed till 3.00am). Didn't get the chance to check out the dance floor, maybe next time...
